About Williams Hall at Barlow Hospital
The grounds of century-old Barlow Hospital are tucked into a corner of Elysian Park near Dodger Stadium. The hospital, formerly Barlow  Sanitorium, is City of Los Angeles Cultural Historic Monument No. 504.
It was founded in 1903 by Dr. Walter Jarvis Barlow as a tuberculosis sanatorium, the first such institution in the city. Between 1902 and 1927, several Los Angeles area families, including  the Lankershims, the Van Nuys and Newhalls, donated funds for various buildings.
The EPHS would like to thank Barlow Hosptial and its staff for making its facilities available for our meetings and other events.
