Highlights of the 2010 Echo Park Home Tour

More than 250 people attended the 2010 Historic Echo Park Home Tour on Sunday, Nov. 14. This year’s tour, Eco Echo Park: Urban Sustainable Living, featured 10 homes and gardens that feature lifestyles of the ecologically minded. Visitors got a first-hand look at gray water systems, solar power, natural light and circulation as ways to reduce dependency on public utilities as well gardens that include elements of urban farming, native plants, drought-tolerant landscaping and no dig gardening and chicken coops. The historical society would like to thank tour director Holly Hampton and the more than 100 volunteers who made this event possible a big success.
